ATLANTA, Ga. –
Taylor Brooks had eight points and five rebounds as Oglethorpe University rolled past Agnes Scott College 61-28 tonight.
Sydney Evans added eight points,
Lindsay Moore had six and
Erika McLeod and
Sierra Lee scored four and two points to help the Scotties in the contest.
Brooks led the Scottie squad, while Evans scored eight and
Erika McLeod collected a team-high nine rebounds.
Oglethorpe shot 36.9% from the field (24-65) with 62.5% from the free throw line (10-16). Agnes Scott was held to just 12 field goals for 27.9% shooting.
Agnes Scott College started off strong opening the contest with a 13-12 advantage over Oglethorpe University after the first quarter. The host then started to build its lead in the second quarter will adding 21 points and holding the Scotties to only two points to take a 33-15 advantage into the halftime break.
The Stormy Petrels outscored the Scotties the second half, scoring 16 points in the third quarter. Oglethorpe then cruised in the fourth quarter to claim the 61-28 victory.
Agnes Scott will return to action on Saturday, January 29
th as they host the Wolves of Wesleyan College. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. inside Woodruff Gymnasium.
