DECATUR, Ga. –
Erika McLeod had her second double-double performance of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds as the Mountaineers of Berea College rolled past Agnes Scott College 91-44 this afternoon.
Ivey Portis and Sierra Lee added eight points each,
Sydney Evans also scored seven,
Lindsay Moore had six and
Kayla Jones and
Taylor Brooks scored two points to help the Scotties in the contest.
McLeod's double-double performance led the Scottie squad, while Portis and Lee scored eight and
Erika McLeod collected a team-high 12 rebounds.
The Mountaineers shot 50% from the field (39-78) with 64.7% from the free throw line (11-17). Agnes Scott was held to just 18 field goals for 25.7% shooting.
Berea College started off strong opening the contest with a 30-6 advantage over Agnes Scott after the first quarter. The Mountaineers continued to build its lead in the second quarter will adding 24 points and holding the Scotties to only 12 points to take a 54-18 advantage into the halftime break.
Berea dominated the second half, scoring 17 points in the period. The Mountaineers then cruised in the fourth quarter to claim the 91-44 victory.
Agnes Scott will return to action on Tuesday, January 25
th as they travel to Oglethorpe University. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
