DECATUR, Ga. – The Agnes Scott volleyball hosted its first two home season opener games against Maryville and Wesleyan College this afternoon to open USA South conference play.
In the open match of the day Maryville made its way past Agnes Scott 25-19, 25-19, 25-13. Daisy Hooper led the Scotties in kills with eight. Taylor Carley led the team in assists with 14. Alecia Holmes-Terry finished with 11 digs.
Agnes Scott retuned to the court later in the day to take on the Wolves of Wesleyan College. The Scotties of Agnes Scott secured a 3-0 victory (25-20, 25-16, 25-15) to pick up its first victory of the season. "It was a good volleyball played today," Agnes Scott head coach Shanna Trone said." The team did a really good job executing on the floor and did what it took to get the job done."
With the victory ASC moves to 1-9 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Alex Roquemore and Taylor Carnley led the Scotties with eight and nine kills respectively. Alexis Holmes Terry finished the match with 21 digs. Taylor Carnley collected 16 assists in the victory.
The Scotties will return to action on Tuesday, September 28th at 7 p.m. as they host the Lions of Piedmont University in Woodruff Gymnasium.
