LOOKOUT MTN, Ga.—Covenant College protected its home court with a 3-0 victory over Agnes Scott in USA South volleyball action on Tuesday evening. The Scots came into the contest with an unblemished mark and they were able to stave off an initial push from the Scotties to stay that way.

Covenant took the first two sets 25-14 and 25-12 before running away with things in the final set 25-3.

The Scots and Scotties traded points in the early going of set one, but Covenant's consistent hitting on offense proved to be a key to their match sweep. The Scots hit a blistering .500 in the opening game, killing 13 points compared to just seven kills for the Scotties.

Agnes Scott was stouter on the defensive side in game two, forcing the Scots into seven hitting errors but the Scotties were never able to get things clicking on offense after the opening set. Covenant's service game often kept the Scotties scrambling on defense, leading to quick points for the home side.

Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga.) led the Scotties with four kills and one total block.

Agnes Scott will look to get back in the swing of things when they host Maryville College in Decatur at 3 p.m.
