Box Score DECATUR, Ga. (November 12, 2021)—The Agnes Scott College Scotties basketball team opened the Agnes Scott College Tip-off Classic and its 2021 home season opener losing 82-49 to Hollins University.
The Scotties (0-3, 0-0 USA South) were unable to find a defensive answer for Hollins junior guard Unoma Aguolu. Aguolu was responsible for 26 points in Friday's affair off 10-of-13 shooting from the field, 6-of-13 from the free throw line. Aguolu scored 13 of 26 points in the first half of regulation. Combined with a solid defensive game plan that limited the Scotties to just 27 points in the second half, Hollins was in complete control of this game.
Offensively, the Scotties were paced by Taylor Brooks 14 points off 4-of-8 shooting from the field, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Kayla Jones had a solid offensive showing as well, chipping in eight points against Hollins University. For the entirety of the game Agnes Scott converted 31.7 percent (20-63) of their shots compared to Hollins 47 percent (31-66).
The Scotties will return to action on Saturday, November 13th and will face the Blazers of Belhaven University to close out the Agnes Scott College Tip-off Classic. Tip-off slated for 3 p.m. inside Woodruff Gymnasium.
