Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Agnes Scott women's basketball opened up its second weekend of USA South competition with a 73-20 loss to Huntingdon College on Friday evening. The Scotties will return to Montgomery on Sunday to complete the season series with the Hawks.
Agnes Scott drops to 0-3 on the season while the Hawks climb into the win column for the first time in 2021.
The Scotties frontcourt combo Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga) and Erika McLeod (Snellville, Ga.) hauled in 21 combined rebounds. The two also scored over half of Agnes Scott's points with McLeod leading the Scotties with six.
"We started playing Agnes Scott basketball in the second half," said first-year head coach Reggie Blackmon. "We played the entire 40 minutes and never gave up."
Blackmon made note of the team's effort, particularly on the glass, where the Scotties held a 44-40 advantage over the Hawks. Galoia led all rebounders with 11 in the game and the senior is averaging 9.3 per contest through the first two weeks of the season.
Huntingdon's A.B. Davis led all scorers with 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting.
Agnes Scott will tip with Huntingdon at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday afternoon. The Scotties will host their first home series beginning next Friday with Wesleyan coming to Woodruff Gymnasium for a 6 p.m. start.
