LAGRANGE, Ga.—Host LaGrange controlled the tempo from the opening tip, besting Agnes Scott in the 2021 season premieres for both programs. The Scotties were led by junior Shay Sweat (Lawrenceville, Ga.) with seven points, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the line.

Agnes Scott improved with each passing quarter after shaking out the first-game jitters. First-year Erika McLeod (Snellville, Ga.) broke up a 26-point run for the Panthers with a pair of calmly made free throws. McLeod finished the game with four points and a team-high six boards.

Chloe Perry (Atlanta, Ga.) and Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga.) each scored five points for the Scotties.

LaGrange had all 12 players make at least one shot from the field. Jada Brown led all scorers with 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor. Senior Jahpera McEachin contributed a double-double with 15 points and 14 assists for the home side.

The two squads will meet again on Saturday at 2 p.m. in LaGrange to close out the season series.
