Box Score DECATUR, Ga.—A late burst from Covenant helped the Scots to a 51-35 comeback effort on Agnes Scott's home court. The Scots outscored the Scotties 16-3 in the fourth quarter to take the season series.
The Scotties and Scots went toe-to-toe for nearly 30 minutes of action. Neither team led by more than two possessions for most of the game and they were knotted at 32 with fractions of a second remaining in the third quarter. A loose ball found the hands of Cosette Kirsch before it was kicked out to Ruthie Moore for a momentum-shifting three in the corner as the third-quarter horn sounded.
It was all Scots the rest of the way as Agnes Scott failed to hit a shot from the field over the final seven minutes and change.
Kirsch and Moore combined for 27 points to lead the visitor's effort.
Covenant's slanted 23-2 advantage on the offensive glass was a determining factor down the stretch as the Scots attempted 32 more shots in the game.
Addison Harrison (Ellenwood, Ga.) got into double-figures for the first time in her young career.
Agnes Scott (0-17, 0-8 USA South) finishes its three-game homestand on Wednesday when winless Wesleyan (Ga.) heads to Decatur.
