Basketball Season Ends in 68-45 Loss to LaGrange

Box Score

DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott basketball saw their season come to an end this afternoon at home, as the Scotties fell to LaGrange, 68-45. The Scotties (2-18, 1-13 USA South) were led in scoring by first-year forward Garis Grant, who scored 15 points to lead Agnes Scott.

In the first half of play, the Panthers (16-9, 10-4 USA South) outscored the Scotties, 39-23, to take a 16 point advantage into halftime. The closest the Scotties would close the gap would be to 14, when Anna Weimerskirch drained a three-pointer to make it 45-31 with 4:37 to play in the third quarter. Foul trouble would plague Grant, who was only able to play 20 minutes of action after picking up three fouls in the first half of play.

The game marks the end of the first season under head coach Allison Kern, and the team will return all of its players from this season as they enter their second season of play in the USA South.
