SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Agnes Scott College basketball team held tough for the first half of play before Alverno (5-5) lit up the scoreboard in the second half behind 8 three-pointers, running away from the Scotties, 70-43.  For the Scotties, who were outrebounded, 35-24, Laniqua Collins led the way with 14 points.

Another glaring statistic for the game was the differential in personal fouls, as the Scotties were whistled for 17 personal fouls, and Alverno for just 6.  

The Scotties will return to action on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. as they take on Spalding.
