Box Score 2 The Agnes Scott volleyball team dropped two matches today at the Greensboro Invitational in their second weekend of competition.
Against Roanoke College, the Scotties fell in three sets, 9-25, 21-25, 18-25. Senior Jynnah Radford led with five kills and an attack percentage of .833. First-year Kayleigh McCrary set up 10 assists and sophomore Natali Rendon led the team with 12 digs.
"Overall I am pleased with the progress I am seeing. It is still early in the season and we are still developing our team chemistry" remarked head coach Catherine Geerlings. "As our skills continue to improve and our chemistry starts to flow, we will begin to see our hard work pay off."
Later in the afternoon, the Scotties came up short against Greensboro, losing three well played sets, 23-25, 17-25, 24-26. Transfer junior Lauren Aikens led the Scotties in kills with 11 and a .625 attack percentage. Senior Morgan Bender was close behind with 8 kills. First-year Kayleigh McCrary led the team in assists with 32. Libero Shelli Sherman accumulated 14 digs while first-year Miranda Arnold added 13.
Greensboro edged out the Scotties in total kills with 40 (.240 K%) to the Scotties' 36 (.210K%).
The tournament will conclude on Sunday afternoon with the Scotties set to face Guilford College at 10 a.m. and Peace University at 2 p.m.
