Box Score Oglethorpe University narrowly beat Agnes Scott College this evening on the Scotties' home turf with a final score of 3-1 (25-23, 25-19, 21-25, 25-19).
Oglethorpe won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-19. Agnes Scott pulled off a win in the third set 25-21, but Oglethorpe clinched the match with a fourth set win 25-19. "Tonight's match was very close, but we made too many unforced errors" remarked head coach Catherine Geerlings. "Our team played hard and made some great plays but Oglethorpe made the runs when it counted."
Senior Morgan Bender had a double-double with 14 kills (.167%) and 15 digs. Sophomore Natali Rendon also had a double-double with 10 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Shakirah Dodson had 31 assists marking her first time above 30 in a match. She also added five kills and one service ace. Junior Lauren Aikens added eight kills (.125%), three solo blocks and two block assists. Destiny Dawkins and Shelli Sherman had 14 and 11 digs respectively.
The Scotties will return to action on Friday as they travel to Toccoa Falls.
