A second half surge was not quite enough to push the Scotties past Birmingham Southern this evening as they fell 62-66. Agnes Scott trailed by six points at half-time, 27-33, and came back with 35 points in the second half, 35-33, for their closest loss of the season.

Sophomore Breonca Hackney led the Scotties with 16 points shooting 6-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.  Hackney also grabbed 10 rebounds to get her second double-double of the season. Sophomore transfer Courtney Kelson added 15 points and led with four steals. First-year Miranda Arnold rounded out the starters with 10 rebounds. From the bench, Destiny Freeman contributed 13 points shooting 3-for-5 from the floor and 7-for-9 from the free throw line.

The Scotties will return to action on Thursday at home as they face LaGrange College at 6 p.m.
