Box Score The Agnes Scott College volleyball team defeated Huntingdon College this evening at home 3-1. The Scotties celebrated their two senior players, Morgan Bender and Jynnah Radford prior to the match.
Bender has been named to the all-conference team three years in a row and the all-academic team all years eligible. She has led the team in kills for the past three years as well. Radford has been named to the all-academic team all years eligible and was named to the all-conference team for the first time last year. She has also led the team in blocking for the past two years.
During the match, Agnes Scott took the first two sets 25-12 and 25-17. Huntingdon came back and won the third set 27-25, but the Scotties clinched the win with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.
Bender led with 15 kills (.209), two service aces and 14 digs. Junior Lauren Aikens was close behind with 12 kills. First-year Lexus Travis added six kills (.222) and First-year Kayleigh McCrary added five kills and one service ace. Sophomore Natali Rendon had eight kills and 15 digs. Sophomore Shakirah Dodson led with 38 assists. Junior Shelli Sherman led with 31 digs.
The Scotties will return to action on October 26 at Salem College and on the 29th at Covenant before heading to North Carolina for the GSAC Tournament on November 8 and 9 hosted by Salem.
