T.J. Greggs-Edwards returned to Agnes Scott in the Summer of 2024, taking on the role of Sports Information Director. He formerly served in the same role from 2014-2017 while serving as the Head Coach of the tennis program.
Greggs came to Agnes Scott with extensive experience. Prior to Agnes Scott, Greggs served as the head men’s tennis coach at Kennesaw State University. Greggs began his career at Kennesaw in 2006 as the Director of Tennis Operations where he served as the women’s head coach. In 2008 Greggs helped to establish a brand new men’s tennis program and took over head coaching duties for the men in 2009. Under Greggs’ leadership, the women’s program saw continual improvement going from a record of 4-18 in their first season of DI competition to a record of 11-9 during Greggs’ last season with the women.
At Agnes Scott, he inherited a team with only three returning players, going 4-10 in his first year. In his second year, the team increased from 7 players to 17, including 4 members of the GSAC All-Freshmen Team, as the team went 10-4 in the regular season, winning the GSAC Conference Tournament and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. He was named the GSAC Coach of the Year in both 2015 and 2016, as the team once again won the regular-season title in the final year of the GSAC.
Greggs’ success extends from the courts to the classroom where over 60 of his team members have been named ITA Academic All-America players over his 12 years coaching. Both the men’s and women’s team were named an ITA All-Academic team in 2008-09 at KSU. In addition, every member of the squad at KSU was named to the conference All-Academic team in 2009-10 and 2010-11. In each of his four seasons at Agnes Scott, the team was named as an ITA All-Academic Team.
Greggs played tennis at Westminster College, Pa. While there, he was a two-time All-Keystone/Empire Collegiate College performer. Playing No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles, Greggs twice advanced to the finals of the KECC conference tournament and in 1994 he represented Westminster at the NAIA National Tournament.
Greggs earned a BS in Mathematics from Westminster, where he also was a member of the varsity swim team, and earned a MA in Student Personnel/Counseling from Slippery Rock University. He also holds a graduate certification in Sports Leadership from the University of Central Florida, and is a USPTA certified teaching professional. He currently serves as the Assistant DIrector of Housing Operations and Facilities at Emory University. He lives in Conyers, Ga. with his husband, Aaron, and their dogs, Watson, Zina, and Chompers.
