Coach Ayears joined the Scotties as a volunteer during the inaugural 2025-26 season for track and field, before being promoted to the Head Coach for the Cross Country and Track programs in May 2026.
Coach Ayears brings decades of experience in track and field, competing for Washington State University and on the national and international stage as a sprinter and jumper. He competed as a member of the US National Track and Field team in 1988 while a student at WSU.
Over the past 12 years, Coach Ayears has coached and helped build programs in both Washington and Georgia, as well as a five-year stint starting the track and field program at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga.
