DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott wrapped up their 2024-25 softball season with a doubleheader loss to Collegiate Conference of the South foe, Covenant College. At the contest, held at Oakhurst Park, the Scotties honored graduating players
PresLee Hix,
Beck Littlehale, and
Bella Leonardi.
The Scotties (6-26, 2-14 CCS) struggled from the plate in Game 1, as Covenant (14-25, 4-10 CCS) held them to 3 hits in the game. Covenant also had a strong afternoon at the plate, as they had 12 hits in the contest.
Taylor Selby continued her strong freshman season for the Scotties, as she had a single and a stolen base for Agnes Scott.
Kenzie Beaudoin and
Jada Howard were the other Scottie batters to score a hit in the game.
In Game 2, Covenant raced out to an early, 3-0, lead in the game before the Scottie bats started connecting in the bottom of the third inning. Selby reached on a fielder's choice, which scored
Bella Leonardi from first.
Bryn Greenwood followed that up with a bunt RBI which scored Selby to bring the Scotties within one. Covenant added a run in the top of the fifth to stretch their lead to two, before Agnes Scott clawed back to a 4-4 ballgame in the bottom of the 6th, as
Sadie McCallum ripped a triple into right field, scoring
Ellie Settle, and PresLess Hix made her senior day memorable with a single to center field which scored McCallum. Unfortunately for the Scotties, Covenant rallied for 4 runs in the top of the 7th to put the game out of reach.Â
For the game Beuadoin reached base safely three times, as she went 1-for-2 with 2 walks.
Amanda Barnes (2-8) suffered the loss on the mound, going the distance for the Scotties, while striking out 3.
The game was the final contest for Hix, Leonardi, and
Beck Littlehale, who did not see action this season due to injury. The seniors were honored between contests at Oakhurst Park. Agnes Scott College thanks these three players for their contributions throughout their careers at Agnes Scott.Â
