HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Agnes Scott began their Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.. with a match against The College of Wooster (3-4), ultimately falling by a score of 6-1. The Scotties (0-2) have a busy week ahead, as they will have five matches on the week as they return to action and enter conference play. The play of freshman Feliz Pearson was the highlight of the day, as she picked up her first collegiate win, fighting back from a set down to take out Mia Smith at the #6 position, ultimately winning 4-6, 7-5, 1-0(7).

Wooster would take the momentum early, as they raced to wins at all three doubles positions. Under the new scoring format for 2025, doubles now counts for one point, and each singles match accounts for a point as well. Wooster swept all three matches to take the early, 1-0, lead entering singles play. The #2 team of Katherine Cox and Jasmine Ziller fought hard, but fell by a score of 6-3. Trinavy Le and Pearson paired up at #3, falling by a score of 6-2.

In singles, Wooster #1 Janaki Jagannathan would take down Scottie freshman Taylor Hendley to give her team the 2-0 lead. Leilah Lewinson battled hard in both sets of her matchup at #2, falling 6-2, 6-2. Wooster would clinch the 4th point of the match at the #5 spot, as Willow Hernishin took down Le by a 6-0, 6-2 scoreline. With the team match decided, Pearson continued to fight on Court 6, ultimately pulling away in the third-set tiebreaker after trailing, 4-0, early in the decisive 10-point tiebreaker. 

The Scotties return to the court on Tuesday in Hilton Head, as they take on Millikin (1-11) at 2:30 p.m.
