Brailsford finishes with back-to-back double-doubles

DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott basketball team finished up their 2024-25 season with a nailbiter against LaGrange College, dropping an 81-79 decision at home on Thursday, February 20, before ending the season on the road against Belhaven, where they fell by a final score of 94-54. Both opponents qualified for the postseason and will compete in the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament, while the Scotties (3-22, 2-14 CCS) see their season come to an end.

Brailsford, the reigning CCS Rookie of the Week, continued her outstanding freshman season, bucketing 24 points and hauling in 14 rebounds to lead all players. Zania Gay also had a strong showing off the bench, contributing 12 points and making 4 steals.

In the Belhaven game, Brailsford and Williams led the Scotties once again, as Brailsford had 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Williams chipped in with 10 points and 2 steals. Sydney Portis led the team with 4 steals on the evening, and Sydney Evans contributed 2 more blocks in the contest, bringing her season total to 68. Evans finished the season in the NCAA Division III Top Ten in both blocks and blocks per contest.

The games mark the final games for seniors Ivey Portis, Sydney Evans, and Lindsay Moore. The Scotties, with 6 freshmen returning for their sophomore campaigns, along with Williams, a current sophomore, look to build off the progress made this season and return with more experience and an opportunity to continue to improve on this season's accomplishments.
