DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott basketball team dropped two contests over the weekend by almost identical scorelines, falling to Asbury University, 82-50, on Friday night before falling to Maryville, 80-53, on Saturday afternoon. Both games took place at Woodruff Gymnasium on the campus of the Scotties (2-16, 1-8 Collegiate Conference of the South).
In the game against Asbury (9-7, 6-1 CCS),
Anissa Brailsford led the way for the Scotties, logging 17 points and 5 rebounds. Also contributing signficant efforts for the Scotties were
Laila Williams (13 points, 3 assists),
Sydney Evans (12 rebounds, 4 points, 3 blocks) and
Ryley Jolly (9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals).
In the Saturday matchup against the Scots (7-11, 6-3 CCS), Brailsford again led the way for the Scotties, logging 16 points and 8 rebounds. Senior guard
Ivey Portis made 4 baskets from 3-point range to chip in with 12 points, while Jolly was once again effective in several areas, finishing with 7 steals, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 points.
The Scotties return to the court on when they travel to Asbury for a weather-delayed contest on Wednesday, February 5.
