DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott dropped the final game of the Agnes Scott Tipoff Classic, falling to Brenau, 79-50. The story of the day was second chances for the Tigers (4-3), as they took advantage of 29 offensive rebounds to score 26 second chance points.
The first half was a struggle throughout for the Scotties (0-2), as the Tigers scored 20 points off of turnovers, compared to 2 for the Scotties, as they raced to a 36-14 halftime lead. Sophomore
Alex McElroy was the lone bright spot for the Scotties in the first half, scoring 10 of the Scotties' 14 points. She would finish the contest with a game-high 16 points.
The second half was a more competitive affair, as the Scotties came out of the locker room more determined to play a more aggressive style.
Ryley Jolly led the way for the home team in the second half, racking up 12 of her 14 points in the second half, including 11 in the 4th quarter alone. However, Brenau relied on the long ball, sinking 11 three-pointers, while also outrebounding the Scotties, 50-30.
The Scotties will look to rebound in their next contest, a home matchup with Oglethorpe (1-0) on November 18.
