BREVARD, N.C. - Agnes Scott took to the road to open the 2024 soccer season, facing off with their former USA South Conference opponent, Brevard College. Brevard (1-0) used an offensive onslaught to control possession throughout the game and register a 6-0 win over the Scotties (0-1). It was the season-opener for both teams. 

The Scotties fought hard on the defensive end, making Brevard work for every shot, as goalkeeper Olivia Rosario registered 15 saves on the day, as Brevard had 21 shots on goal for the afternoon. Agnes Scott was held without a shot for the first 86 minutes of the contest, before senior midfielder Peighton Freeman did her best to put the Scotties on the scoreboard, but the Tornado goalkeeper was able to make the save near the end of regulation to preserve the shutout.

The Scotties will look to rebound on Friday as Gellerstedt Field will get the opportunity to host the first night contest for the Scotties, as new lights were installed last year at the Scotties' home field. The Scotties will face off with another former conference foe, Salem College (0-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and admission to all is free.
