Scotties Drop Two in CCS Tri-Match

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Agnes Scott volleyball continued their opening week of conference play with a road tri-match against Huntingdon College and host Covenant College. In both matches, the Scotties were downed, 3-0, to drop to 2-7 on the season, 0-3 in the Collegiate Conference of the South.

In match one against the Hawks (6-13, 2-1 CCS), the Scotties feel victim to the high-powered offense of the Hawks, as they hit with a .486 hitting percentage as a team for the match, while holding the Scotties to a .064 hitting percentage. Madison Stidum returned to the Scottie lineup after missing the conference opener on Wednesday, leading the Scotties in kills with 9. Also returning after a short absence was junior setter Adrionna Foster, who led the team with 10 assists, and First-Year libero Jahneya Reynolds led all players with 11 digs on the day.

In the second match of the afternoon against Covenant (7-9, 2-1 CCS), the Scotties fought hard and hung tough with the preseason #23 team in the country, even holding a 23-21 edge in the 3rd set before Covenant was able to close the door on a Scottie comeback. Stidum would again lead the team with 11 kills for the match, with Foster adding 14 assists, and Reynolds again reaching double digits in digs with 11. Covenant's strong serving was one of the stories of the match, as they registered 15 aces to only 2 service errors on the day, while the Scotties had 5 aces and 5 service errors.

The Scotties will go outside of the CCS on Tuesday, as they host Ferrum (2-10, 0-5 ODAC) at 4:30 p.m. at Woodruff Gymnasium on the Agnes Scott campus.
