WEST POINT, Ga. – In Saturday's twinbill, the Scotties fell twice to Point University. Point U. won the first game in five innings, 8-0, followed by a 2-0 decision in favor of the Skyhawks.
GAME TWO (Agnes Scott 0, Skyhawks 2)
In the nightcap, junior Sydney Strama (Bartlett, Ill.) kept Agnes Scott in the game, tossing six innings while allowing only two runs, seven hits one walk and three strikeouts, but the Scotties were able to get into a rhythm.
First-year
Colleen Thorson (Suwanee, Ga.) recorded two hits for Agnes Scott.
Kilee Thomas (Clarksville, Ga.) produced a hit for the Scotties.
After four scoreless innings, Point University scored twice and kept Agnes Scott off the board.
The Skyhawks' Katelyn Jiles allowed two hits, one walk and five strikeouts in five innings of work. Hamm finished on the mound allowing one hit, one walk and one strikeout in two innings picthed.
GAME ONE (Agnes Scott 0, Point University 8 [f/5])
Kilee Thomas,
Michaela Dailey, Colleen Thomas and
Emma Thomas all recorded a hit for the Scotties in game one against Pont University.
Point University scored six runs in the first two innings, followed by a run in the fourth and fifth innings.
Point University's Mary Burnham secured the win on the mound of the Skyhawks only allowing two hits, one walk and three strikeouts in the 12 batters faced in the three innings pitched. Ashlynn Hamm finished the contest for the Skyhawks only allowing two hits in the five batters faced in one inning pitched.
Regan Hutto got things going on the mound for the Scotties only allowing five hits, six runs, one walk and four strikeouts in the 12 batters faced in one inning pitched.
Jani Howington was the pitcher on the mound for the purple and black only allowing two walks.
Megan Coggins wrapped things up for the Scotties only allowing four hits, two runs and one strikeout in the nine batters faced in the one inning pitched.
The Skyhawks finished the contest recording nine hits while the Scotties collected four hits.
