LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.—Senior goalkeeper
Ashley Kopczyk (Elgin, Ill.) and the Agnes Scott defense displayed a stingy demeanor, but Covenant's strike in the 17
th minute was all it needed to pull off a 1-0 result in Collegiate Conference of the South women's soccer action on Wednesday.
Agnes Scott sees its record dip to 1-10, while Covenant improves to 4-4-5 and 1-1-4 in the conference. The Scotties return home on Saturday for its final home game of the regular season hosting Wesleyan College for Senior.
Covenant's Emma Riggs found the lower left in the 17
th minute for what ended up as the game-winner.
The Scotties were able to gain more momentum in the offensive third over the final 20 minutes of regulation, catching the Scots sleeping with speed on the outside. However, Agnes was unable to find the back of the net.
Kopczyk made nine stops but also contested 50-50 balls on more than one occasion to prevent Covenant from growing its lead.
